So, this post is late. It's been a busy week and I have felt uninspired. Our unusually pleasant spring (which is, surprisingly, spring-like) has continued. The warm weather has prompted me to get outside and get moving -- mostly on bike rides with greta-girl. I am loving the double-tandem bike thingy! I am longing to stand on top of a mountain again, but was reminded that the journey (aka: the rest of life; reality) is more about getting to those mountaintops. The precious moments at bedtime that I share with my kids, the cleaning, the bill-paying, laundry... All the small, mundane tasks that make up my life, are part of what make those mountaintop experiences so wonderful and enriching. "Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while your climbing it" -- Andy Rooney While, I think that it may be stretch to say that *all* of the growth happens while you're climbing it, the principle is the same. I needed this reminder. So, instead of spending the weekend in the mountains, I will enjoy it carting my kids around, visiting with friends, doing housework and maybe even getting another bike ride or two in. Happy weekend, everyone. Hopefully, I'll see you on the trails... Paved or otherwise :) ~S~ Oh- and before I forget- we are nearing the end of our squat challenge. Is there anyone out there who is still squatting? Comment below! I sure am and I am looking forward to next month's challenge. Stay tuned- it involves a giveaway! :)

AuthorSarah and Cory have a passion for hiking and being out in nature. There is no feeling quite the same as standing on the top of a mountain, sitting by a hidden lake, the jelly legs at the bottom of a steep descent, the sun on your face or the wind in your hair. Even our children have come to love it! Archives
